Dr Bawumia and the Speaker of Parliament
Ghana’s Vice President, Dr
Mahamudu Bawumia has paid a visit to Parliament to ascertain the extent
of damage after last night's downpour.
The chamber of Ghana’s Parliament was one of the affected buildings following Tuesday night’s heavy downpour in the capital.

The Chamber was left at the mercy of the rain with some electronic gadgets installed in the chamber badly affected.
Speaking
after his tour, the Veep said: “we heard what happened last night and
had to rush here this morning to actually see it. Thankfully, the damage
has not been too much and some measures have been taken to try to
contain the situation before permanent roofing is put in place.

“So, I am happy to see the consultant and the contractors are still around and they are going to repair the damage…”
Meanwhile, the leadership of Parliament has requested for a new chamber.
