Your Vote Is Your Sovereignty - Ps. Mensa Otabil

The Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), in a sermon elaborated to his congregation the need to vote, who and what to vote for as Ghanaians in this year's December 7 polls.

In his sermon he stated that, as Ghanaians our vote is our sovereignty, it is our sacred right to give to someone who can either mess up our future or help develop our future and that of this our beloved nation.
He urged the congregation not to exchange their vote for chicken, t-shirt, salt and some other sorts of invaluable things which can't even last for any good time and that these politicians try as much as possible to lure some Ghanaians into selling their vote in exchange for those cheap things because they know they don't value it and that's why they buy it cheap from them.

He again stated that, as a Ghanaian, before we vote we need to check the proposals on offer by the candidates and having in mind that our vote is our secret trust for a better life in the years ahead.

"Your vote is your declaration. Voting is not like supporting a football team, where winning or loosing does not affect your life much, but voting affects your life either positively or negatively because it is a decision you make". He said.

He has urged all fellow Ghanaians not to look at party colors, blood ties, tribal and ethnic sentiments or take petty cash and goodies to influence their vote, because their vote can make or unmake the nation.

He said "we should vote for our dreams and aspirations, beliefs and values, looking at the proposals given by the candidates, and see which one can help us achieve our goals and who and what ideas favor our beliefs and aspirations. Vote for the future of the nation. Prayerfully consider your decision before you vote because you are voting for proposals that can shape the nation in one way or the other. I pray we make good decisions come December 7th. God bless us all" He added.
